Our favourite restaurants in Sant Antoni
Stepping away from the bustle of Las Ramblas is Sant Antoni, the former-working class suburb located between Poble-Sec and the Raval. This is where the locals go to eat, drink and to do their shopping at the Sant Antoni Market. Once home to Barcelona’s Industrial Revolution workers, Sant-Antoni is an up-and-coming neighbourhood and features one of the trendiest streets in Barcelona – Calle Parlament.
Superstar chef Albert Adrià and the Iglesias brothers chose Sant Antoni as the site for their self-described ‘culinary amusement park’. The name of their restaurant group, El Barri, nods to the 6 restaurants Adrià has built in the Sant Antoni / Paral·lel neighbourhood. Each restaurant has its own unique culinary concept and features gorgeous interior design.
Whether you want to indulge in a 40-course degustation under a ‘cloud ceiling’ at Enigma or experience the Adria twist on a traditional vermouth bar at Bodega 1900, Sant Antoni offers some of the best fine dining experiences in Barcelona. The crown in Adrià’s restaurant empire is Tickets Bar, one of Barcelona’s hottest restaurants. Bookings are taken up to 3 months in advance, but if you can’t get in, you’ll be spoilt for choice in San Antoni. DestinationBCN brings you the insider’s guide to the best restaurant recommendations for Sant Antoni.

Bodega 1900
Set up by Albert Adrià – who can often be found working at this little gem – this Barcelona establishment was inspired by traditional vermutarias and reflects the spirit of yesteryear with a classic Spanish decor, an excellent array of vermouth, its intimate space and legs of fine jamon on display. The food has the exciting and inventive Adrìa touch, from their famed olives that look normal but are liquidized inside (they melt in your mouth), to the homemade crisps with vermouth salsa and their delicious Tartine of jamón ibérico. Expect a blend of locals and tourists, excellent customer service and a trip back in time with a modern edge.

Els Sortidors del Parlament
This place was previously a mechanic’s workshop and has been transformed into a bodega that offers quality food, including Catalan specialities and conserves as well as a wide variety of beers from all over the world. You can enjoy a pica-pica by the barrels or on the long shared tables at the back. Spoil your palate with Galician shellfish, cured meat, delicious cheeses and more. Rather busy on the weekends but we like to think that’s all a part of the fun.
